So its Valentines week, and proposals all around the world have reached their destinations. We all know the two very popular replies: Yes and No. The reply 'Yes' is as good as a responsiblity than relief because we all know keeping that one person with you is tougher than getting to be with them. But today I would like to talk about the latter. How easy it is for someone to think that their feelings have been played with by the other person. Do we really look into it from the other person's perspective? Do we ever stop to think, what could that other person's past be for them to react this way.
The answer to these questions is simple. Its EASY. Its easy to blame the other person, its easy to just think that the other person is heartless or dosen't care about other's feelings. Its easy. What's not easy is the efforts one would have to take to 'understand'. A person would have to go beyond their affection to understand what the other person might be going through. We need to apprehend what position we are putting that other person at. When someone approaches you in a manner where your reply becomes the turning point in your existing relationship, that is not a position anyone would want to be in. And when you put them there and still hope them to either say Yes or reject you in a manner which would not make you feel bad, that is something which is not EASY.
So, this Valentine, let's not take the 'easy' way and take our time to broaden our understanding.
